Youtube Fire and brimstone

Fred Phelps' Westboro Baptist Church are now offering up some Youtube evangelism with their marvelous message: God hates the world.

Oh, yeah.

I expect most people have a hard time imagining what kind of dull mind embraces shit like this. But it's the certitude of their odious convictions that remains the most disturbing aspect of these cretins.

By the way, these folks more than adequately reinforce the theory that the word "cretin" has its etymological roots in a medieval French dialect and derived from the word for "Christian."

Bhc,

There was a wonderful documentary on these nutcases by Louis Theroux on the BBC which I'll try and see if I can find anywhere. It's not often that there would be people that both Bush and myself would conclude were an abomination, but that family were certainly up there.

One of their hobbies is to picket the funerals of soldiers who have died in Iraq in order to convince the grieving families that their offspring deserved to die. I literally watched it with my mouth open. Foul beyond belief.

Oh, and it's America's love of faggots that is behind God hating you all. That's the theory. Mindbending. And they take their children out into the streets to proclaim this nonsense and be spat on by passersby. And each and every protest they carry out, the mother instantly proclaims to be a ten out of ten.

Kel,

Oh yes, I'm well aware of these lunatics. They were supposedly going to come to Baltimore to protest the play, The Laramie Project, which is about the town of Laramie, Wyoming in the wake of the horrible killing of Mathew Sheppard. I guess that had more important soldier funerals to protest.

Interestingly, a motorcycle gang of Vietnam veterans started showing up at soldier funerals where these nutjobs were protesting. Big, heavy, leather clad Harley biker vets would cordon these twits off and just stand in front of them so they couldn't get near.
