I thnk they're going to do whatever they have to in order to keep the attention off of Iraq, corruption within the Administration, and global warming. Over the next few days we're going to hear all sorts of things about the vicitims. All the while horrible things will be happening in Iraq and the environment, and scandals will be swept under the rug.
Do you think he was saying anything as respectful as that?
I don't begrudge heartfelt sympathy for the surviving family members. It's the stark contrast with the callousness we show towards anyone outside the country or inside the country and not of the proper socio-economic class that wears me down. More empathy and outrage is needed: Darfur, Katrina victims (still!), homicide victims, drunk driving victims, poverty-stricken children, on and on...and of course our own troops and countless Iraqis.
