Good News for Modern Man*
And I'm not kidding. This is good news for modern man and woman. Fox News ratings are on the slide:
So far during the second quarter, the No. 1 cable news channel’s primetime schedule has dropped 22% in its core 25-54 demo and 8% in total viewers. The first quarter was even worse.Roger Ailes is apparently incensed by the lackadaisical performance and is demanding "launch-type intensity" of everyone. I'm not sure just what that might mean other than perhaps expecting a notable increase in the number of Fox Newsers getting launched out the door.
As yet there has been no word on when the network will start labelling former viewers of Fox News, America-haters, but this campaign is expected to begin at anytime. With launch-type intensity!

What is the explanation for the decrease in Fox "News" viewership?
Is there a Steven Seagal marathon on TBS? Maybe it is an unsually exciting NASCAR season. Or could it be that the Fox audience is turning to Comedy Central because they think that Colbert is serious.
Whatever the reason, it is nice to hear and it gives me a little faith in mankind.
I don't know, the story didn't say. It did note a decrease in viewership overall; CNN also dropped though less so than Fox.
I wonder if this isn't a seasonal thing, people being just less inclined to watch tele during the summer and spring, preferring to be outside. At least, I'd like to believe that. Maybe that is a fanciful notion these days, as very little seems to distract people from their television consumption.
But maybe it is the case that the FOX News shriek-fests have finally worn on people. I can't stand watching those freaks for five minutes and would much prefer a vacuum cleaner next to my ear than the noise coming out of Fox News.
Maybe some of them read a few polls and discovered how misinformed they are compared to others. I don't know.
But if the trend continues, Robb, and Fox News goes belly up (a dream I know but ...), what on earth would you do in the evenings?
