If You Can't Beat 'em, Beat 'em

Thug nation makes itself known yet again as news comes in that University of Kansas religious studies professor Paul Mirecki, a man who had recently offered a course in religious studies called, Special Topics in Religion: Intelligent Design, Creationism and other Religious Mythologies, was beaten by two hominids in rural Kansas. Mirecki didn't help his cause at all when he sent an email to a student organisation that contained jibes about "fundies." After the stink cause by that inadvisable action, he withdrew the course. And for some, it would seem, doing that was simply not enough. At least a couple of the offended clearly decided that a damn good thrashing would be the oder of the day. Or, as they surely must say in Kansas, Mirecki was due for an ass-whuppin'.

As reported by the ATS newswire:
LAWRENCE, Kansas (ATS) - Authorities have yet to determine the exact species of hominid responsible for the attack, forensics having determined that the attackers must exhibit significant quantities of body hair on the hands and knuckles. Officials say that laboratory DNA testing will establish the genus and species of the attackers within the next few days though, as officials note, the DNA of all living hominids is so nearly exactly the same, that it will take some time for DNA testing to resolve the question.
