Ramping Up the Fear

As a follow up to Ramping Up, wherein I stated that I was sure what to make of Bush's announcement of the $7 billion influenza program. Of course, that wasn't entirely true. I have blabbered about this extensively, but now wonkeydonkey is strongly pointing out an aspect of this influenza freak-out that I had only briefly mentioned in Flipping the Bird, the limited liability for Big Pharma that Bush has been pushing since a few weeks ago. Some very interesting details about Big Pharma, vaccine development and, of course, their aversion to lawsuits for messing up people.
