Google Earth mapping Darfur

Google has teamed up with the US Holocaust Museum in an effort to bring the atrocities occurring in Darfur further to the fore. If you have Google Earth, you can zoom into the Darfur region, where a number of features can be seen: images and descriptions of the scorched earth policy of the despicable "government" of Omar al Bashir. The breadth and depth of this ongoing man-made disaster can scarcely be appreciated.

The larger question is why is this allowed to continue? We already know that answer to that, of course. Just like the US manufactured crisis in Iraq, this one, too, is all about the oil, as the Chinese resist UN efforts to bring an end to the suffering of these destitute people.
