Bush Chooses Director of Faith Office

It still is jarring to hear that the US government actually has a "Faith office." But it does, or we do, however one would like to view that. Personally, I'll go with the "it" rather than the we, because this is no longer a government "of the people." It hasn't been for sometime, really, but this is just a sad and unpleasant reminder that it is a government of "the base"; an unholy mix of radical Christianists and corporate cronies. The People? Well, who knows where they are but I know where they are not: in the Capitol.
