Tit for tat

One gets the distinct feeling, and certainly the implication is there, that the rape and murder of an Iraqi woman (along with three relatives) by members of the 502nd Infantry Regiment, one of whom has just been charged with the crime, resulted in the subsequent and widely-publicised kidnapping, torture and beheading of two soldiers from the same unit. That might be a stretch, I don't know. But if it was a reprisal attack, the increasingly grim situation in Iraq only appears worse, with tit-for-tat hits between insurgents and US forces. We need to get the hell outta there.

Dear God, Bhc. Well spotted.

That went right over my head. But tit for tat has been going on for quite a while now.

Remember the "civilian contractors" that were lynched and burned by the Iraqi mob?

Turns out they worked at Abu Ghraib. I think the locals knew much more about what was going on there than we did at that point.

The locals always know what is really going on, Kel.
