Jakarta to the rescue

A friend of mine forwarded this interesting item. After watching the chaos and carnage escalate under US occupation, Indonesia is now proposing to send a military force of Muslims to Iraq in order that the US can withdraw it forces.
Indonesia says a military force from predominantly Muslim countries should be deployed in Iraq before the United States withdraws. The recommendation is part of a larger proposal to resolve the conflict in the war-torn country.

Foreign Minister Hassan Wirayuda said like-minded moderate Islamic countries acceptable to the Iraqis should contribute to the "intervening force", whose deployment should not be seen as an extension of the U.S.-led coalition troops or Iraqi security forces.

"This force would not be perceived as enemies by the Iraqis because we're going in there as brothers who are there to help...."
This seems to be ignoring the fact that it is Muslim on Muslim violence that is currently dominating Iraq. But at this poinit, almost any idea other than Bush's intransigence seems worth considering. Of course, there is no way on this earth Bush is going to let a bunch of Muslims come into his house and fix, or try to fix, the mess he is responsible for. If it worked, that would be beyond the pale for this or any US administration.
